Vase with Gladioli, Paris 1886. Van Gogh painted many still lifes. He wrote to a friend telling him that the reason was that he had no money to pay models. This type of painting gave him the opportunity to experiment with bright colors. In this painting, the artist has applied thick paint, which adds texture and relief to the image. It is currently located in the Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam.
