Cómo elegir cuadros para el dormitorio
In the bedroom, artwork defines the character of rest and enhances the most intimate atmosphere of the home. Above the headboard, choose a piece that measures between 60% and 80% of the bed’s width. Leave 15–25 cm between the bottom edge of the artwork and the top of the headboard to maintain visual balance and a sense of harmony.
The hanging height can be adjusted from the gallery standard (center at 145–155 cm), but in bedrooms it’s best to hang it slightly lower so it can be comfortably viewed from the bed. If there are wall lamps or tall headboards, lower it further to visually integrate it with the furniture.
The size of the bedroom guides the choice:
- Small bedrooms: Choose vertical pieces to elongate the wall and create a feeling of spaciousness. Opt for light colors and neutral backgrounds (white, sand, soft gray) with touches of soft blue or green.
- Medium bedrooms: Select horizontal or square pieces of medium size that complement the bed without overpowering it. Earth tones, olive green, or blue-gray shades convey serenity and depth.
- Large bedrooms: Large-format artworks bring presence and visual unity. Gentle contrasts between white, beige, graphite, and deep blue work well, as do warm palettes with amber or terracotta nuances.
Color should harmonize with textiles and walls. In cool-toned rooms (gray, blue, white), look for artworks with warm accents—ochre, soft orange, or golden beige—to balance the space. In bedrooms with warm woods or cream walls, deep blues and muted greens evoke calm. In neutral spaces, a touch of dusty pink or sage green can refresh without disrupting harmony.
